Have you ever experienced a psychic attack?
A psychic attack is when you are overcome with powerful, negative energy that instantaneously throws you “off-balance.”
In other words, it’s a fancy phrase for negative energy being focused on you with conscious (or subconscious) intention to inflict harm (or someone’s agenda) upon you – or any facet of your life.
Commonly experienced emotionally via anxiety, depression, frustration, insecurity or a general feeling of being ill at ease, psychic attacks can also be felt physically in the form of nausea, headaches or tightness. In other words, discomfort in the general pit of your stomach. Some people also report feeling these attacks spiritually in the form of nightmares, blocked intuition, seeing dark spots and more.
In most scenarios, the energy derived from a psychic attack typically results from another person, but, in some cases, it can come from a space or a spirit source, too.
The Symptoms of a Psychic Attack
The critical aspect to keep in mind when it comes to psychic attacks is that it’s usually not with intent. In fact, the majority of people in this world have not quite awakened to the fact that their energy – in the form of thoughts, feelings, and intentions – can impact others. However, many of them are bullies, abusers or manipulators, and are aware of this “power” and use it to their advantage. So similar to how powerful, intense, focused rays of the sun can burn you, so can like energy from a person when it’s being directed your way intentionally.
Projecting an air of intimidation or “shooting daggers” are also connected to psychic attacks. They direct energy and emotion to foster an unsafe environment and a sense of uneasiness. Or use their will to influence you to behave according to their agenda.
Sometimes it can be challenging to determine if you are the focus of a psychic attack because they often manifest in ways that are similar to other experiences. Yet, typically, a feeling of something “not being right” can be a major red flag.
The essential thing to understand is that this experience is merely energy, and energy responds to energy. If you allow yourself to become fearful after experiencing a psychic attack, you’re tuning in to a frequency of energy that simply attracts the same. The good news is that when you realize that it’s just energy and that you can transform – or block it out – you can then step into a place of self-empowerment.
According to Gaia, here are five signs you may be experiencing a psychic attack:
- Disabling fear or anxiety
- Nightmares or night terrors, often involving attacks
- Extreme fatigue
- Emotional or spiritual paralysis
- Questioning your path, sanity or values
To further explain the concept of psychic attacks, consider this: The way that people feel think about you, as well as their intention towards you, produces strong energy signatures. And when you become a match to these strong negative energy signatures, like anything, they impact your awareness and daily experience.
One way to determine whether someone may be sending a psychic attack towards you is by tuning in to how you feel when you’re around him or her. For instance, if you walk into a room and a person glares at you intensely – and you feel chills up and down your spine – the odds are that this person is attacking you on a psychic level.
Here are some additional signs associated with psychic attacks:
- Seeing your attacker in either your dreams or your thoughts
- Suddenly acting entirely out of character
- Major changes in your clarity of thinking or analytical ability
- Icy cold feelings on specific areas – or all – of your body
- The feeling that you hear voices
- Strange or recurring accidents
- A fear of a specific room in your home or office
- Sudden illnesses that baffle doctors and are challenging to diagnose
- A feeling that someone is touching you or bumping into you when nobody is actually there
- Sudden depression without cause
- Anxiety that won’t soothe by usual means such as deep breathing, yoga, contemplation or meditation
- A negative thought that doesn’t seem to go away as hard as you try
- A feeling that you’re being watched
- Seeing shadows around you out of the corner of your eyes
So How Can You Protect Yourself Against a Psychic Attack?
You can learn to protect yourself from psychic attacks and recognize how to free yourself of the negative energy that typically results from outside yourself.
For starters, one of the easiest ways is to get away from the individual as quickly as possible. However, if this is not an option, it’s suggested to envision being in a white light bubble. Try to see yourself inside this bubble – from head to toe – until you are feeling protected physically from the white light.
Researchers say that daily meditation and/or prayer are also beneficial. And while it may seem contradictory, it’s recommended to try wearing the color black if you are in an unhappy environment. Why? The color black will deflect the “dark” energy of a psychic attack.
Also, wearing jewelry or crystals that are black, such as hematite, obsidian or tourmaline, are ideal shields for your aura.
Healing practitioners also suggest burning sage or incense to clear a space, especially if a psychic attack occurs in your home. Open windows to let in light or go outside to soak up some sunshine. Once the energy is cleared – and you are no longer under psychic attack – chances are that you will feel more at peace and uplifted.
The Bottom Line
Those individuals who engage in psychic attacks on a subconscious or conscious level live acutely painful lives.
However, psychic attacks are not something to be afraid of daily. And they are not something mystical or supernatural beyond your control. They are merely the natural result of living in a world where many people experience trauma and find themselves out of alignment due to the symptoms they can trigger.
The most vital step to dealing with psychic attacks is to understand that psychic attackers are not necessarily attackers. Instead, they are messengers for elements of your unconscious shadow that crave to be noticed, felt and engaged. At the end of the day, I believe they are a call to “heal” unhealed parts within each of us.
